Islington Carers Centre aims to identify funding to sustain vital projects and to attract funds for new projects.
Any contributions however small or large will enable us to continue to delivery services that reach the most disadvantaged.
Summary: To assist the Manager in the service development and planning, to implement quality strategies for ICF covering particular areas relevant to the organisation's future development and projects sustainability. To manage and supervise staff within a multi-disciplinary team. To monitor and to measure achievements and to ensure projects report within agreed formats and timescales. Islington Carers Centre has developed to the point that we now need to strengthen our management structure.

Summary: To assist the Manager and staff team by providing information and advice to carers regarding their rights and entitlements to welfare benefits who live in the London Borough of Islington. Welfare benefits advisers and welfare rights officers help clients claim the benefits or tax credits they are entitled to. Such as:

![]() | researching information using reference material and relevant websites |
![]() | giving advice on social security and tax credits in confidential office appointments, over the telephone, by letter or by email |
![]() | writing reports and/or appeal submissions |
![]() | helping people fill in forms to apply for benefits, housing and council tax, carers allowance and/or tax credits |
![]() | working with other agencies and organisations on behalf of clients. |

To assist the manager to provide an effective and efficient administrative and finance service and to support the work of ICC by providing the team with in-house IT support.

The purpose of the job is to advise & offer information to carers with an emphasis on support for carers and older and disabled people, key to the role is the provision of general advice, housing and on health issues. This job also involves advocacy, by office appointment and through outreach work to enable carers to access services relevant to their needs, in particular access to services, breaks and education.
